Registered with General Osteopathic Council Member of the British Osteopathic Association Qualified Body Control Pilates instructor (REPs level 3) Katherine qualified from the British School of Osteopathy in London – one of the top training institutes in the UK, after having previously worked as a sports therapist at an Osteopathic clinic in Coventry.
This involved treating competitors at international dance competitions as well as professional football and rugby teams. Since qualifying as an Osteopath Katherine has worked in many different environments with a wide range of clients such as residential homes, GPs’ surgeries and the Royal Free Hospital in London.
Having run her own practice in Sandbach with Andrew since 2008, whilst living in Cheshire and also working as an associate in the Wirral where she was involved in private and NHS contract work with regular GP and orthopaedic referrals. She gained a huge experience before opening the Bedworth clinic in 2012.
Katherine has a strong sporting background previously playing football for various top clubs in the UK until finishing to have her two boys. She now runs for Nuneaton Harriers and Nuneaton triathlon club where she regularly competes in cross-country and athletic events.
This has driven her to have a particular interest and understanding of the function of the body and why and how the body’s compensation mechanisms can break down in extreme conditions such as sport or even normal day-to-day activities.
As a result Katherine takes a very thorough approach in order to restore the body to its optimum function through osteopathic assessment, treatment, rehabilitation and advice.
As well as common muscular and joint complaints, Katherine holds a postgraduate qualification in cranial osteopathy, enabling her to treat even deep-seated conditions in both infants and children. She has also completed a post graduate qualification in medical acupuncture for the alleviation of musculo-skeletal pain and electrotherapy, including ultrasound, which she frequently uses as part of her treatment programme.
